SATURDAY RECREATIONAL PROGRAM

At United Explorers, our Saturday program is designed to inspire growth, connection, and confidence for participants aged 17 and older.

We offer a dynamic blend of movement-based activities—including yoga, gym training, swimming, and physical fitness—paired with practices that support overall wellbeing, such as sound therapy, breathing exercises, and tools for emotional regulation to encourage balance and nervous system health.

Beyond physical wellness, we focus on activities that encourage self-expression, communication, and connection. Through art, group discussions, and opportunities to share about themselves, participants strengthen their ability to express feelings, build lasting friendships, and develop a sense of belonging. We also enjoy music, cooking, and animated storytimes (presented to the group), which add creativity and fun to our sessions.

We incorporate enriching experiences outside the gym—visiting the library, engaging with community centers, and participating in activities that build independence and real-world social skills.

Each season features a guiding theme—such as "Helping One Another," "Manners," "Road Safety," "Workers in Our Community," "Habits for Healthy Living," and more. These themes shape weekly discussions, activities, and real-time learning opportunities, allowing participants to apply new knowledge and skills in engaging, practical ways.

Our Saturday program is about more than activities—it’s about fostering respect, inclusion, community integration, and the tools to navigate adulthood with confidence.

"Teaching yoga with the UE group has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The connection I’ve built with the neurodiverse community is truly special — their enthusiasm, openness, and willingness to explore something new continually inspire me.

The UE team is exceptional at creating an environment where everyone feels supported, motivated, and engaged. It’s a true blessing to share the gift of yoga with such an amazing group of individuals."
